My Royal Fern design was created to reflect the beautiful soft tones and hues which can be found in Scottish woodland settings. The same scene can change dramatically depending on the time of day and month of the year.

We are blessed with beautiful light and often quite sudden changing weather conditions which can create real atmosphere and beauty to our rural landscape.

Did you know that a chevron is a V-shaped mark, often inverted. The word is usually used in reference to a kind of fret in architecture, or to a badge or insignia used in military or police uniforms to indicate rank or length of service, or in heraldry and the designs of flags.

The chevron pattern is a bold zig zag pattern that is most often used as a pattern to make hand made quilts. This pattern was used in early art such as pottery, rock carvings, and wood carvings. I do love the flexibility of this chevron mark.

Autumn is all about changing colours of the landscape and when Autumn leaves let themselves be blown to the very peaks of the highest mountains and the brittle twigs follow closely behind.

Autumn marks the transition from summer to winter, in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere), when the arrival of night becomes noticeably earlier and the arrival of day becomes noticeably later, and the temperature cools down considerably.

Sunken Garden was inspired by fragile rose flower beds and distressed antique tile mosaics which you find in stately home Victorian Gardens.

I have combined both ideas together to design a pretty fusion of both ideas for a wallcovering or fabric which would transform a space into an elegant pretty space.
